Hello Everyone!
You’re probably wondering what this is. Is it just some extra stuff for Backstage Character Development? Well…kind of. This is an opportunity for you guys to develop your character more, and basically a free pass for a RP (if you’re having writers block). This will be a platform open to anyone to use and is a fairly quick and simple process.
How does it work?
Like I said, simple. PM me (John) on discord if you’d like, and I’ll ask you some questions (as you would on a real podcast) These questions can be about whatever you want; Your background, your future, what you’re gonna do to your opponent at the next PPV, what you had for dinner last Tuesday…anything!
Why can’t I just do this myself?
You could, but whos podcast are you gonna be on? “Big Phils Tuesday Talks”? There’s no established podcast in GCW Lore. This is also a way to get a RP out if you’re having trouble thinking of anything (writers block) or being short on time.
How long will they take?
The sample podcast with Clint Bishop took around 30 minutes of simple back and forth messaging between John Styles and Kidd West.
This isn’t a one off project, but more of a new RP mechanic. It’ll be a great way to help develop your background more, and possibly even establish some new allies or rivals in the GCW locker room. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to show the GCW universe what sets you apart from the rest of those losers on the roster!
Styles - "Welcome ladies and gentledudes to "Will This Be Renewed" With John Styles...hey wait, is that some kind of joke? Who came up with this sh...anyway, we have a huge guest for our first instalment. The one and only GCW General Manager, Former IWGP Heavyweight Champion: Mr Clint Bishop. What's going on Clint?"
Clint - "Not much John, great to be here on the first chapter of what I'm sure will be a great show. Always up for helping a talent if they need it"
Styles - "Need it? What are you trying to say Clint?"
Clint - "nothing malicious, when I got your call the other day I felt this was certainly something I had to do" *Clint laughs*
Styles - "Well nonetheless, It's good to have you here as our first, and maybe last guest if the name of the show is anything to go by. Anyways, lets get right down to business. What are your thoughts on the current GCW Roster? Any standouts? Anyone you're looking forward to seeing more?"
Clint - "Well, I feel our roster is quite adequate at its current size, there is definitely some potential in members like Mason James who had lit up the Hardcore Division in recent times with some excellent performances, Simon Cade of course is another shout for a standout wrestler that could transition to the upper card. Most important of all John I think you, yes you, are the most criminally underrated member of the roster right now! Given you haven't had much in the way of titles but still put out stellar performances each week. Would love to see you challenging for either the International or GCW Championships"
Styles - "Well that's very kind of you sir. You mentioned Simon Cade, why don't you think he's broken through to the main event quite yet? Is it the lack of ambition I mentioned a while ago? Or is it something else? I certainly think he has what it takes but I'm wondering what you think he needs to do to get there."
Clint - "To make it simple. Management finds his attitude backstage to be very... flawed, if you know what I mean? His theatrical entrance at ExtraVaganZa put many of us off, considering he was the only one who requested such an entrance. I'm sure you must have seen it, what were your thoughts?"
Styles - "That's interesting. I've heard of a lot of talented guys who squandered their opportunities due to behaviour issues, I hope Cade can get back on the right track. As for his entrance at ExtraVaganZa, I'll be honest, I didn't see it. I was preparing for my main even title match, in case you'd forgotten. *Styles Laughs* Before we move on, I wanna play a quick game of word association, if you don't mind of course."
Clint - "I don't mind, should be interesting"
Styles - "Alright, I'll name a person, place, object Et cetera, and you answer with the first word that comes to your mind. Ready?"

Styles - "Interesting, Sox still suck by the way. Where do you see GCW heading in the next few years? Could we see GCW inside the Tokyo Dome or AT&T Stadium in the future?"
Clint - "Well, having spoken to many of my sources, we're looking at another world tour, this time looking to include Australia and New Zealand in the mix as well as stretching our home tours here to include parts of Mexico, not just Canada like we usually do"
Styles - "I thought you said "and not Canada" and I got excited for a second. Sorry to our Canadian listeners, hope I didn't hurt your feelings up there eh?" "Another thing that I've been wanting to ask you for a while now is what your thoughts are on Kidd West becoming owner of GCW and Nigel being relegated to announcer on the B show. Has to be intimidating knowing you could be next right?"
Clint - "It is quite the changeup but I don't feel concerned, the roster would riot if I was removed." Clint laughs "Given that Nigel is set as our Head of Talent relations and also B Show announcer. There was some concern with the future of the company for sure given West is inexperienced compared to most other owners. So far I've been personally trying to make sure he doesn't use his position to benefit himself or The Conspiracy"
Styles - "Don't worry Clint, he knows if he tries that, he'll have me to worry about" Laughs "How about some non GCW related questions? Seen any good movies lately?"
Clint - "Don't really watch many movies nowadays, not got the time. But I do like to occasionally put on the classics. Ever seen Pulp Fiction?"
Styles - "Is that a trick question? Am I getting Punk'd?"
Clint - "No no, not a trick question, I just find the Tarantino films highly entertaining"
Styles - "Whatever floats your boat I guess. What about Music? What're you into?"
Clint - "I have a strong love for rap, yeah I know how stereotypical that sounds" he laughs "But NWA and Wu Tang Clan are pretty good at what they did"
Styles - "I do enjoy a little Gangsters Paradise myself once in a while." "What hobbies are you into? You like to collect stamps or fly RC Helicopters in your spare time Clint?"
Clint - "My hobbies include watching the Red Sox whenever we're back in Boston, Collecting old rap CDs and funniest of all, watching indy wrestling. Those smaller feds do things better than GCW some times" *clint laughs*
Styles - "Alright, we're running out of time here Clint, those fellas over at GCW.com only gave us half an hour...stingy bastards. So I wanted to see if there was anything you have to say to the GCW locker room, perhaps some advice? And if you have anything to say to our wonderful GCW fans...except the ones up in Canada."
Clint - "Hey Canadians. Don't listen to this guy, you're superb support when we come up there, which we're hoping to do soon, see y'all later!"
Styles - "And anything for the guys and girls in the back?"
Clint - "Keep doing what you're doing guys, I know it seems like success can be so far away, you just gotta get your head down and put in the effort. Then it will start paying dividends!"
