Sway and Darius are sitting backstage before the press conference. Sway's browsing twitter, and Darius is surveying the crowd of people walking past them.
Sway Archer: What's this all for, anyway?
Darius Seeiso: This is one of the biggest steps in order to secure our success. That's all you need to know as of right now.
SA: You never let me in on the important shit. I didn't even know you were getting an office.
DS: Cure your vices and maybe I will.
Sway looks up from his phone, puzzled. Darius glances out of the corner of his eye, and subtlety nods.
DS: Yes, vices. You are too drawn to social media. The wealth that we have provided you with has made you vain. Not to mention the parts of your childhood that you refuse to let go of.
Sway squints and leans in towards Darius.
SA: What do you mean?
DS: We know what happened to you. The crash, where you survived. The one that led you to the church.
Sway's eyes widen. He had no idea that Darius knew.
DS: The girl that you talk to all the time, the one you call a lot. She reminds you of the girl that died in that crash, right?
Sway doesn't respond, but Darius smiles.
DS: I know, it's okay. She's a crutch for you, Archer. If someone like me didn't like you? She'd be in a lot of trouble. I'd go right after her, and there's nothing you'd be able to do. People who know you know you care about her. A little too much.
SA: Why is that a bad thing?
DS: It's a bad thing because when push comes to shove you won't let go of her in order to succeed. I'm telling you to now.
Darius turns to Sway and stares intently at him.
DS: Exorcise your demons. For yourself, and for the cause.
Darius stands as Kidd starts to speak. He walks into the conference room.
SA: For the cause.
