Fargodome
OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE: 23,580
Fargo, North Dakota
The red Vindication Pyro goes off as the camera pans over the Fargodome. An attendance figure pops up at the bottom stating the arena attendance of 23,580. We cut to the commentary team of Terry Kohl and Beast Jackson at ringside, surrounded by fans who are loudly applauding and slapping the ringside barricade
Kohl: Welcome to GCW Vindication LIVE from Fargo, North Dakota! We have a great show for you tonight featuring some of the best matchups we can bring you!
Beast: Right you are Kohl, we’ve got John Styles vs. Kidd West, Daniel Collins vs. El Masko vs. Mason Childers, and Maricia Coucheaux is facing off against Camber, Queen of Flames.
Kohl: Some intense decent matchups here no doubt, I’m certainly looking forward to our Main Event Darius Seeiso vs. Mason James
Suddenly, ‘Hole’ by Royal Blood blasts over the speakers, both commentators flinch at the intensity of the theme as Kidd West steps out, dressed in a black suit with a red tie and one of the GCW World Tag Belts draped over his shoulder. He climbs into the ring and reaches for a mic.
West: Now I know you all are expecting Kidd West vs. John Styles tonight! That match is still happening. But I thought I might as well come down here to address the elephant in the room…
He pauses, looking out at the crowd with mixed cheers and boos blasting out across.
West: Simon Cade, in two weeks we meet at GCW Heatwave. And as head of the company I feel I should create a stipulated challenge for this. If I win, you give up your right to a rematch for the GCW US Championship. If you win, I am not allowed to challenge for the United States Title so long as it remains in your possession. And this match will be contested in a special contest I call… The Gauntlet. Pinfall, Submission and putting your opponent through a table. Whoever can achieve all three objectives wins the match.
The fans appear to be cheering to the idea of this match
West: The stakes are raised Cade, will you accept my challenge and engage me in all out war. Or will you try and weasel out of it like the coward you are. I await your response next week Cade, don’t keep me waiting or else
West drops the mic and storms back up the ramp
Kohl: Well, you heard it here first folks, Kidd West has issued a challenge at Simon Cade for Heatwave, will he accept?
Beast: If he has any dignity, he will, there’s nothing better than making the boss eat his words!
Kohl: Anyway! Up next it’s Daniel Collins, El Masko and Mason Childers!
Daniel Collins vs. El Masko vs. Mason Childers
Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a triple threat match and is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from El Paso, Texas, weighing in at 180 pounds, El Makso!
"Bleed for a living" starts and El Masko walks out wearing sunglasses and holding a boombox, and points to the sky. He runs towards the ring highfiving as many people as he can before stopping at the ring. He places the boombox on the ground, and hops onto the apron and climbs to the top rope. He makes a looking motion and climbs back down to place his sunglasses on a random fan before rolling into the ring.
Fink: And his opponent, weighing in at 197 pounds, Daniel “the big Fellow” Collins!
Daniel saunters in when his theme hits. The best way to describe how he comes to the ring is 'cocky'. Finger guns to the crowd, walking backwards, hopping a little as he makes his way down the ramp. More often than not, Daniel will enter with an empty guitar case. Never an actual guitar because 'Who has time for that? The case is quicker and easier to learn". He circles the ring a few times, pausing to chat with random crowd members, and sign random parts of their body. Once finally in the ring, Daniel will cut loose, running from rope to rope, hyping himself up for a fight.
Fink: And finally, from Gordo, Alabama, weighing in at 365 pounds, he is the current GCW hardcore champion, Mason Childers!
When the music starts, all the lights are turned off (pitch black). The song plays itself out until it gets to the "Watch the Damned!" line. When that line hits, a spotlight shines on the top of the ramp. Mason is there taking a knee. When the Chorus hits at "Balls to the wall, man!" a "wall of fire" pyro explodes into the air behind Mason, and he stands from his kneeling position. From there, the lights come back up and Mason throws his hands up into the air in a "stand up" motion to rally the crowd behind him. He picks one audience member to high five at the end of the ramp before he turns the corner and walks up the steel steps. He enters the ring and spreads his arms apart as if to symbolically embrace the crowd.
*With all 3 men in the ring, the referee calls for the bell. Masko and Daniel initially look at each other, realising that Mason’s size advantage will be a big problem. So, they begin to both beat down Mason with quick punches to the back. Mason struggles to keep on his feet as he is backed into the corner. Daniel points at the opposite corner, instructing Masko to run to the opposite corner and back. Masko nods and does just that while Daniel holds Mason in place. But just as Masko is about to run back, Mason shoves Daniel away and connects with a vicious clothesline on Masko*
Beast: Good God! Someone check Masko, I think he might be dead.
*Mason shouts to the crowd as Masko slowly rises up again. He grabs Masko and lifts him into a scoop slam and runs straight to the ropes and back into a body splash. Mason goes for the pin…1…2…Daniel breaks up the pin with an axehandle. Masko rolls out the ring in pain as Daniel continues to keep Mason down with his punches. Once he is satisfied, Daniel steps back and allows Mason to stand up as he hypes the crowd up*
Kohl: He’s not really thinking that he can lift Mason Childers on his own?
Beast: I think he is.
*Mason turns to Daniel as he kicks him in the stomach and positions him in a suplex position. As he attempts to lift Mason, Masko emerges besides Daniel and shouts, “you look like you need help.” Daniel begins to shake his head furiously as the pair lift Mason up in the air. But , as they reach the full height, Daniel lets go and watches on as Masko struggles immensely to keep Mason up but fails as Mason falls on top of Masko*
Beast: Hahahahaha! That was beautiful by Daniel. Can we get a replay? Please?
*After the replay finishes, Daniel is seen rolling Mason into the corner out of the way before focusing on Masko who is only just stirring from the failed suplex. Daniel goes to lift Masko up, but is caught in a small package…1…Daniel rolls out. They both try to make it to their feet first, Masko wins and is able to connect with a superkick to Daniel as he only makes it to his knees. Daniel rolls to the same corner as Mason as he lies on top of him. Masko points at the two in the corner, hyping the crowd up. He charges at the two and hits a senton on the pair*
Kohl: What a manoeuvre by El Masko taking out both of his opponents at once.
*Both Daniel and Mason roll out the ring as Masko rolls back onto his feet. He adjusts his Masko and notices the pair on the outside. Masko is really hyped now as he notions to the crowd that he is attempting a suicide dive. The crowd keeps the intensity up as Masko charges to the ropes. Daniel is able to move out the way but Mason stands in the way and catches Masko. Masko shakes his head but can’t stop Mason from slamming him back first into the side of the ring*
Kohl: Good God! We all know that the edge of the ring is the hardest part.
Beast: Yes Kohl you don’t need to keep telling us.
*Mason now turns his attention to Daniel and throws him back into the ring before he follows. Mason stands up and sets himself up for the Moose charge. Daniel groggily makes it to his feet as Mason charges past him and to the ropes. As he makes his return…Daniel dodges out of the way as Mason lands on the corner post. Mason turns around as Daniel grabs him and sets Mason up into a kill switch position. He turns him around….and struggles to lift Mason up in the air for the Make or Break! He goes for the pin…1…2…3!*
Kohl: What a feat of strength by Daniel Collins as he is able to hit the Make or Break for the win!
‘Hole’ by Royal Blood plays again as Kidd West steps out onto the ramp, Masko and Childers still at ringside. West grabs a mic from a nearby assistant. Grinning, he puts the mic towards his mouth.
“Well well well, Gentlemen. You certainly put on a match tonight now didn’t you? That is why using my position as OWNER of GCW, I giving you both a very special gift. At the next Vindication, you both will be competing for the Hardcore Title… IN THE MAIN EVENT, and if Mason Childers retains, well El Masko… you will remove your mask and bring deep shame to your historic lineage of champions!”
West returns backstage as we return to a speechless Kohl and Beast.
Simon Cade vs. Bandit
.’Stockholm Syndrome’ by Muse hits the speakers. Bandit comes out as the band kicks in after a little bit of guitar in the song. He walks down the ramp with his hands in his pockets, looking down at the ground the entire time.
Fink: Making his way to the ring… From Cincinnati, Ohio.... BANDIT!!!
When he reaches the apron, he'll check under the ring just to make sure that there's some weapons underneath, just in case. Once in the ring, he'll run into the corner & headbutt the turnbuckle a couple of times before shouting out something to the crowd.
Kohl: Bandit is one of the hottest prospects coming in to GCW right now, a very unknown quantity with a lot of promise
Beast: *Beast begins to quickly empty his pockets into a small safe chained beneath the commentary booth* ...Yeah?
Simon Cade walks out, ‘Christcontrol’ by Cancer Killing Gemini blasting through the arena. He makes a deliberate attempt to get as far away from the fans as possible.
Fink: Making his way to the ring… from Farmington, Connecticut. He is your reigning United States Champion… SIMON CADE!!!
When he gets down the ramp, he'll lean on the ringpost nearest the steps, wrapping his arm around and looking out at the audience, before shaking his head and going up the steps. He then enters the ring, and sits in the corner closest to the entrance ramp, looking towards the ramp, awaiting his opponent.
Kohl: The Champ is here!
Beast: Think he heard West calling him out earlier?
Kohl: Who knows?
The bell rings.
Both men rush to each other, trading punches and kicks. Cade overpowers Bandit and begins to mercilessly punch him in the head before Irish Whipping him into the ropes. Simon attempts to go for a Snap Scoop Powerslam but Bandit counters by thrusting his elbow into the side of Simon Cade’s head. Dazed, Simon falls forward, cracking his head off the mat as Bandit stands tall, throwing up a gang sign
Kohl: My god… Simon Cade might be unconscious from that elbow!
Beast: Ding Ding Ding, his bell is rung!
Bandit proceeds to pick up Cade and hit him with several vicious headbutts. Cade painfully falls against the ropes as Bandit goes to make a running elbow on him, Simon Cade ducks at the last second pulling the top rope down and sending Bandit tumbling to ringside. This buys Simon Cade enough time to scuttle to the corner, gripping his head and trying to regain focus.
Kohl: Cade is looking worn out already, the damage to his head seems near irreparable
Beast: He’s gonna be brain damaged if he takes any more offense to his head.
Bandit gets back up, sliding into the ring he picks Simon Cade who seems to not know where he is, and set up for a DDT. But the the last minute Simon reverses it into a Swinging neckbreaker, before then repeatedly stomping Bandit’s back.
Bandit dizzily gets back up, but Cade takes out his leg with a chop block and more repetitive stomps. Tossing Bandit into the corner he rushes him and repeatedly stomps his leg before picking him up and hitting him with the Michinoku Driver. Cade quickly hauls up Bandit and hits him with his signature finishing move. The Breakdown.
1.
2.
3.
Kohl: CADE WINS!
Beast: He got luck towards the end there no doubt about it, quickly countering and hitting his finish. I’m certain this will send a message of intent to West!
We cut to ringside as Ian Dawson and Mason James stand in the centre
Once they are finished, Kidd West is seen on the titan-tron.
Kidd: Well then Ian, it appears you are quite confident in Mason's abilities. And what was it you said? Mason only needs 10 minutes to defeat Darius? Well then, that's all you will get in the main event!
Kohl: Kidd West laying down the challenge to Mason to defeat Darius in 10 minutes. I wonder how that will change his game plan going in to the main event.
Maricia Coucheaux vs. Camber
The match simply didn't even begin, with Marcia and Camber viciously attacking each other with chair shots and fire before the bell had been rung. After the referee attempted to break the two up and failed to do so, he simply threw the match out and called for more officials to help split the two women apart.
John Styles vs. Kidd West
John Styles was the victor at the end of the day defeating Kidd West in a short match. Styles was able to counter everything West threw at him. Ending the match by tossing West out of the ring and slamming him into the barricades and ring steps. Getting a swift victory by count out.
As Styles celebrates in the ring, facing towards the ramp. Kidd West slides in, armed with his baseball bat he used last week. West rushes forward and swings, but Styles ducks at the exact moment and superkicks West sending him bouncing out the ring
“West… did you forget about the giant bloody monitor there!” Styles shouts, almost laughing as the audience join in with him.
Darius Seeiso vs. Mason James
FinFink: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, with a ten minute time limit!
As "Freak on A Leash" starts, the crowd begins to cheer. Mason appears and stands, looking around to everyone in the crowd.
Fink: Introducing first, from Derby, England, accompanied by Ian Dawson, he is "The Monster in The Shadows", Mason James!
His eyes laser focused, he begins to stomp towards the ring. He gets in the ring over the top rope and screams to the crowd while Ian Dawson points at him.
As 'Murmaider' blares through the arena, the lights fade low, and the audience is plunged into darkness. A white fog engulfs the stage, and deep blue spotlights scan through it. As the guitar starts, you begin to see Darius slowly rise from below the stage, Maricia standing beside him.
Fink: And his opponent, from Maseru, Lesotho, accompanied by Maricia Coucheaux, he is the GCW Champion, and one half of the GCW Tag Team Champions. He is the self-proclaimed 'King of GCW', Darius Seeiso!
He holds the GCW Championship in one hand, and the tag team title in the other. He saunters down to the ring, his head bowed, bobbing slightly to the guitar. Darius raises the titles as he approaches the ring, and the lights fade up. His pale grey scan the arena, and he laughs to himself. He kisses Maricia, and rolls into the ring, raising the titles to the audience, before retreating to his corner, and kneeling. He hands the titles off to Maricia, and focuses on Mason as the bell rings.
Beast: Here we go, this is a big money match up ladies and gentlemen.
Mason turns to talk to Ian as the match begins, and Darius charges him, ramming him head first into the turnbuckle. The crowd erupts into cheers.
Kohl: Darius coming right out of the gates with a load of aggression!
Beast: When isn't Darius aggressive, Kohl?
Darius continues to hammer away at Mason, but Mason blocks a punch, and tosses Darius into the corner instead. Mason then begins to club Darius in the corner, as the crowd continues to cheer.
Kohl: This is going to be a slugfest!
Beast: Well Darius is still pissed at Mason for taking Sway out of commission, probably wants to soften him up for the title match as well. Lotta motivation for Darius.
Darius ducks a punch and takes Mason to the ground with a double leg takedown. He climbs on top and continues to pummel Mason, while the ref attempts to separate the two.
Kohl: Darius might get himself disqualified here!
Beast: How much do you think he *really* cares...
Mason finally pushes Darius off, and the two make it to their feet. Darius stumbles on his way up, and Mason opportunistically catches him with a big boot.
Kohl: We're about a minute into this match, and Mason gets the first distinct advantage.
Mason snatches Darius to his feet, and Irish whips him into the corner. He charges at Darius, and goes for a splash. Darius ducks under it, hits the ropes, and comes back with a corkscrew forearm. Mason holds his ground though, only slightly shook by Darius' offence.
Kohl: This is really a meeting of two colossus here, Beast, don't you think?
Darius runs off the ropes again, and hits a dropkick, staggering Mason a bit more.
Beast: I think this is a main event matchup being given to our viewers for free. What do you think Kohl?
Kohl: Well in this case--
Beast: No one cares what you think, Kohl.
Darius charges off the ropes again, but Mason retaliates with a discus elbow, dropping Darius once more. Darius rolls up on to one knee, and Mason hits a knee trembler, putting Darius straight back to the mat.
Kohl: Mason is on another level here tonight!
Beast: Ian has done something to Mason. Any compassion he had in the past is nowhere to be seen.
Mason continues to attack Darius, stalking him around the ring. Mason goes to pick Darius up, but Darius quickly springs up with a single leg dropkick. Mason stumbles, and Darius hits a dropkick to Mason's knee, before hitting another kick to the kneeling Mason.
Kohl: Darius for the cover -- but Mason easily kicks out at one.
Darius snatches a headlock, and tries to keep Mason grounded. He grinds his forearm into Mason's cheekbone, but this only serves to further aggravate Mason. Mason slowly works to his feet, and lifts Darius into the air. Darius struggles, and Mason sets Darius down on his feet. Darius goes to wrench the headlock again, but Mason slips out and hits a high-angle German suplex.
Beast: Mason is truly a monster! Look at that strength!
Darius retreats to the corner, and Mason charges, successfully hitting the splash this time. Darius stumbles out of the corner, and Mason snatches him into the air, before hitting a belly to belly suplex.
Kohl: Mason holding on, and there's-- the second belly to belly suplex!
Mason lifts Darius up for the third belly to belly, but Darius fights out of it, headbutting Mason until the grip was broken. Darius runs off the ropes, but Mason hurls him overhead for the third belly to belly suplex. Mason rises to his feet and growls towards the crowd.
Beast: I have never seen Darius get thrown around like this before!
Mason continues yelling and snarling at the crowd, and Darius catches him with a chop block.
Kohl: Darius takes the big man down to a knee.
Darius then bolts off the ropes, and hits the kneeling Mason with a Royal Fury.
Kohl: Royal Fury!
Darius scrambles to cover Mason, but Mason quickly rolls out of the ring, holding the side of his head. Darius walks over to the ropes, and taunts Mason.
Beast: Darius is still hurt here, I don't think you should be aggravating this massive man, after one Royal Fury!
Mason rolls into the ring, and Darius runs off the ropes again, going for another Royal Fury. However, this time, as Darius jumps, Mason launches him further into the air, and clobbers Darius out of the air with a clothesline.
Kohl: Jesus Christ!
Beast: Goodnight Sweet Prince!
Mason goes for a cover, and Darius emphatically kicks out at one and a half. Mason shakes his head, and begins to pace behind Darius.
Kohl: Mason might be going for that "Mason Massacre" here!
Mason snatches Darius into the reverse DDT position. He lifts Darius into the air for the Mason Massacre, but Darius counters by hitting a knee to the top of Mason's head. Mason lets go, and Darius lands on his feet.
Kohl: Unique counter there, not many people would think of something like that.
Darius spins around, and hits a thunderous slap. Then another. And another. He continues to reign down on the side of Mason's head with slaps, each one stiffer than the last. After 10 slaps, Darius runs past Mason, off the ropes. Darius goes for the Destino, but Mason catches him at the top, in an Oklahoma slam position.
Kohl: Mason reversing that unusually lucha-esque offence of Darius', but what's he going for here?
Mason drops to a knee, hitting a sort of gutbuster on Darius. He then quickly runs over to the turnbuckle, and drops Darius face first onto it with a snake eyes.
Beast: Mason isn't holding back here!
Kohl: And with a minute left, he doesn't have much time to hold back!
As Darius recoils from the turnbuckle, Mason snatches him into the reverse DDT position again, and lifts Darius into the air.
Kohl: Darius is up! He's struggling!
Darius struggles slightly, but Mason falls backwards, delivering the Mason Massacre.
Beast: Mason Massacre! It's over!
Mason drops down for the pin.
Kohl: Here's the pin!
One!
Two!
Three!
The ref springs to his feet and waves off the count, before pointing down to Darius. Mason rises to his feet and raises his arms in triumph, before noticing the ref. The ref points down to Darius once more, emphasizing that Darius' foot was on the ropes.
Beast: That clever bastard...
Kohl: This match continues! Darius' foot was on the ropes! Mason can't believe it!
Mason shakes his head in disbelief.
Kohl: 15 seconds left!
Mason looks at the clock, then down to Darius.
He snatches Darius to his feet, and delivers another Mason Massacre.
Kohl: Another one!
Beast: Darius is in the centre of the ring!
Mason turns towards the entrance ramp. He does a double take to Darius, and stares towards the entrance once more. Mason readies himself for whoever is about to come out of the curtain, as the bell rings. Mason frantically turns around to see Darius rolling out of the ring. The music dies down, and Fink picks up the mic in the time keepers area.
Fink: The 10 minute time limit has elapsed. Therefore, this match will be considered a draw!
Kohl: Oh come on!
Maricia hurries Darius to the back, as Mason yells at the ref inside the ring. Ian walks up the steps, and into the ring to calm Mason down. Mason slowly cools down, and rolls out of the ring.
Beast: Whose music was that?
Kohl: No idea Beast.
Beast: If it is anyone's that is. I wouldn't be surprised if Kidd just tried to distract Mason! He knew Darius was done there.
